Koi Pond

This section of my web page includes pictures, videos and other trivia pertaining to life surrounding my back yard pond.

The "Pond Construction"section shows the progress during the construction phase of the two main ponds and has been broken down by "years of construction".  2004 was the first year and construction continued throughout the years.  During this time the back yard had to be leveled and most of the land received fill of approximately 6 feet in height.  This was the time when the retaining wall and construction of the shed walls for the filtering system received most of the attention.  Sometime around June of 2005 construction of the small upper pond (~750 gal.) began to take shape.  In September of 2006 the main lower pond (~10,000 gal.) was put into use and it took two seasons of tweaking to get the pond filtering system to perform properly as planned.  In 2009 the ponds neared their final phase and from there on only minor touches where added for aesthetic purposes.

The "Local Wildlife"section includes photos and videos of the wildlife that I encountered living within close proximity of my ponds.

The section titled "Birds"is a collection of photos and videos of birds found either feeding out of my window bird feeder or nesting on the property.
